Pulling back the veil a little on how I spent a buttload of my spare personal time, not only did I get a chance to play with all the fun stuff in the Kill Team Salvation box recently, but I found a great way to tie all of the very cool little terrain pieces from the box into the running campaign between myself and my partner, XenonMage. There’s a recurring Inquisitor character by the name of Praxis who’s been popping up to cause our protagonists trouble over the last while in our campaign, and I found a cool miniature at Wargame Exclusive that I thought would represent Praxis really well, and that would fill in a blank from the Kill Team Salvation box – the whole story’s about extracting a Magos Biologis, but there is no Magos Biologis in the box to be had!

Each of the little pieces in the Kill Team Salvation box are very unique – there’s a little furnace, a couple generators, and this big skull-plasma thing that I feel like was the centerpiece of the set. As excited as I was for the Scouts and the Striking Scorpions, it was admittedly the first thing I had to build and paint just because of how cool I thought it looked. Most of this ended up being a speedpaint because I wanted to get this table-ready as quick as possible, but I still tried to add little glowy details and some fun flavor stuff. It was fun to try and think about what the purpose of each of these machines might be and inventing my own lore for them as I went about painting.

Very satisfied with the Kill Team: Salvation box set, and this isn’t even including the Striking Scorpions yet which were definitely the big new hotness of the set for me. I’m hoping that I get the chance to get more games in with XenonMage or KS or other local pals soon just for an excuse to throw some of these out onto the table. It was also nice to get to paint a proxy miniature which I feel like I haven’t done in a while, and once money starts to be a little less tight it’s something I wouldn’t mind doing a little more often. In the meantime, there is a pile of shame and miles to go on that before I start picking up any more new stuff. (Supposedly.)

Great looking scenery Mick, and you’ve added enough detail on all of them to take them all from okay to exceptional.
