A Few Finishing Touches – Hemlock Wraithfighter

I can only take partial credit for this one – this build came about when someone in a local hobby group on social media said they were selling off some of their extra Eldar. Getting a Hemlock Wraithfighter at $50 CDN is a steal, but getting one at that price that was already primed and basecoated was worth pulling the trigger on this project – and I loved the look of the red stripes, too. I might not have gone quite as ham on this as I have with some other “rescue” projects but I’m happy with the end result and I think it fits into my army nicely.

Like any of my other vehicles, I wanted to apply edge highlighting to all of that distinct hull panelling across the Hemlock. I also terrain-ified the basing to fit the rest of my army, and rebuilt the cockpit since the original wasn’t built in. After that it was just a matter of adding bone colors, some metallics, and the gems that make this fit my usual vehicle scheme. I went with green gems on the nose cone just for the sake of contrast.

Because I was lucky enough to get this project half-finished already, it wasn’t a long build, but it was a very fun build, and felt rewarding to get this tabletop-ready. I feel pretty good about the glow-up this got – now, I just need to make sure I don’t fly it off the table when I start playing it in 10th. How hard can it be?
