Daughters of Khaine Spell Markers

I will not invest in another wargame. I will not invest in another wargame. I will not invest in another wargame. And that’s going to be a struggle, because as nice as Warhammer 40K’s models are, Age of Sigmar has some absolutely gorgeous models in its lineup. I picked up a box of the Daughter of Khaine spells for a project I’m planning that I needed some snake-y bits for, but that left me with two whole models that I didn’t really have any plans for. Since Psychic spells are my bread and butter playing Eldar, I decided I could turn these into some neat markers that I could use for Doom, Conceal, or other abilities.

These were kind of an experiment in their own right, because XenonMage also got me a new blood-effect paint from Army Painter that I wanted to test out over some Vallejo red colors to see how the final result would look. Unfortunately I feel like they all blended together a little too well, and the blood didn’t quite get the definition that I was hoping for, but I’m still overall pretty happy with these since they’re just meant to be spell tokens.

The only other thing that I don’t think I did great on these models is that I only did a light coat of gloss. And my reasoning for that is pretty spartan: these are just spell markers, they’re relatively big, and Hardcoat doesn’t grow on trees! But I still might go back in the future and revisit these with gloss again just for the sake of giving them a nicer shine. I’m also looking forward to working with the larger Bloodwrack Viper model, but there’s more on that to come down the road.

Excellent work on the spells Mick, and having your psychic powers represented on the table is a great idea, been working on something similar for my marines, maybe one day will get it finished ! LOL
