Kinpatsusamurai has so many armies, and they’re all amazing. Not long ago, I had the chance to go up against him just after the Chaos Space Marines codex launch, when he was putting together his Night Lords, and…it was a fun, wild ride that lasted a whole two turns. There were definitely lessons to be learned from this game, and as such it makes up the next episode of my podcast, which will be linked here and below!

One thing I have to say about my games with Kinpatsusamurai is that he always outdoes himself on building tables, and this one was definitely no exception to that. The forest terrain with the odd Sector Imperialis-style ruins really worked brilliantly. I also brought my recently-finished Webway Gate over and added it to the mix just for giggles. The table was six feet by three feet and…if I’d been using my brain and using the Eldar’s movement and range this match could have gone very smoothly.

Alas, the match did not go smoothly because I played like a dingus. Thinking that Night Lords were going to be a more range-heavy army, I rushed right into their faces with my Rangers, Howling Banshees, and other units that were promptly obliterated. I came close to taking down Kinpatsusamurai’s warlord, but the dice came up just short for the mortal wounds from my Shroud Runners and Rangers to finish the job.
It was a fun game with a lot to take away from it as learning for the next time. As such, my podcast is linked/embedded below, and I have to say a huge thank you to Ashley Smashley once again for doing some fantastic art for me, with the cover image of the Contemptor Dreadnought cosplaying as Sans Undertale himself. Because I have the dumbest sense of humor.
